Refining Asia Miles’ digital capabilities meant evolving and creating an accessible system that was flexible enough to be applied to the wide range of a customer's daily micro transactions.
With Air Miles, customers have the chance to earn a wide range of transactional rewards with every purchase. But what did the rewards program actually look like? An examination demonstrated that the rewards system existed primarily as a web portal allowing members to earn Air Miles whilst shopping online, but did not integrate earning rewards seamlessly into a persons' daily transactions.
The concept of Making Earning Meaningful led to a mobile app encouraging users to easily set and share their goals. It also integrates with a person’s trivial daily activities such as going for lunch and even window shopping. Users are able to track their goals, tailor their rewards, and maximize their earning methods to fit their lifestyle. Not only was this a tool that allowed AirMiles to understand their customers better, but it offered numerous valuable benefits including increased member engagement.
